June 10, 2004 Italkart Wins ICA and Challenge in ICC Carson Stars RaceSaturday ICA On Saturday, Colby Jenn threw down a blistering lap aboard his Italkart Supersonic/Parilla in ICA good enough for the pole, but an outstanding start by Kevin Glover in the heat race got him the lead. Glover's lead didn't last too long as Jordy Vorrath made his way to the front. Vorrath didn't allow Glover the chance to jump him on the start of the final, and he took off like a shot. Vorrath was untouchable, and he quickly distanced himself from the field by 11 seconds. Dueck and Jenn waged their own battles as the two teammates placed fourth and sixth in the final. ICC In ICC, Jordy Vorrath narrowly missed the pole by a couple of hundredths of a second to Wesley Boswell. His teammate, Jake Thompson was not so fortunate as a technical infraction with his radiator excluded him from competing in the final. Dane Cameron, from Cameron Karting was sixth fastest in the Friday timed session, however would struggle to find a clear lap in qualifying. In the final, Vorrath tailed Boswell by the halfway point. Vorrath Dove down the inside of Boswell for the lead and the two drivers touched, bending Vorrath’s tire rod. Vorrath would go on to place fifth with his damaged kart. Sunday ICA Jordy Vorrath aboard his Italkart Supersonic/TM scored the pole in ICA qualifying, and he also scored an easy win in the heat race. Vorrath was on his game again today. Vorrath sped off to the lead with Kevin Glover tailing him to the line, completing the first lap. Glover ran in second most of the race until an exhaust problem ended his day prematurely. Joel Miller was having a great drive, recovering from a bad start, and moving up into second place when Glover pulled off the track. Though a ways back from Vorrath, Miller had second to himself. Fritz Leesmann started the final from sixth and ran as high as 3rd before getting passes by a charging Tyler Dueck. Dueck did a masterful job of working traffic, and was involved in a heated battle with Colby Jenn, Leesmann, and Tim Maddux. Dueck and Jenn worked together once in traffic and they crossed the line together. While Jenn finished 4th, Dueck moved up from his 11th starting position to finish a very respectable third, behind Miller and the unstoppable Jordy Vorrath. ICC
